Greetings to all the Teacup lovers visiting for another Teacup Tuesday!
Thanks go to sweet MARTHA and sweet TERRI for hosting this weekly Tea party! Click on either of their names to be wisked off to see more pretty teacups 'n' things :-)
This week I am sharing another of my child's teasets. I remember on a previous Teacup Tuesday someone showcased a "regular" set in this pattern but I can not remember who or what the name of the design was!
Closeup view of the pattern with a sterling thimble for size comparison.
A simple JAPAN mark is on all the pieces and looks like it may some kind of bird motif.
Thank you for your visit today and if you have an extra sec be sure to check out my latest giveaway ~ click HERE to see :-)
Hugs and Smiles,
Lynn

On the white porcelain is a transfer design of raspberry pink roses. I have quite a few pieces including cups and saucers, plates, teapot, creamer, salt and pepper shakers, oval platter, cutout handle platter and even a soup tureen. I still need to hunt for a sugar bowl and 4 more cups to complete a service for 8.
My originally white 3" Steiff teddy bear is such a hambone :-)Closeup view of the pattern with a sterling thimble for size comparison.

Good morning Lynn,
ReplyDeleteThis is a darling set of dishes! I believe the pattern is called "Moss Rose". I often see pieces in the thrift stores around here, so I will make a list of what you need and then pick them up when I see them.
Your sweet "Teds" is just loverly!
I am late in posting my Tea Cup Tuesday.....I am waiting for my zucchini bread to bake so I can feature it in the photos!! I'm a nut aren't I!!???
Have a happy day!

There is something about a child's tea set that always tugs at me. I think it is the miniature version of all those things I love, the teacups, teapot, sugar and creamer and dainty plates. I always feel like planning a little tea party for my daughter and making all kinds of miniature tarts and treats...love it!
ReplyDeleteTeddy bears and tea sets ... perfect!!!!!

That is a very sweet tea set and little bear too! I have a child's set for my Granddaugher that we use.
ReplyDeleteDeb :)
That Moss Rose childs tea set is lovely. I'll need to start looking to put away for my new granddaughter. Nana has already bought her first "play" teaset. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi.
ReplyDeleteWow.... My wife was given a Moss Rose (the rose pattern is an exact match between yours and my wife's) 6Pc tea set as a little girl, around 1962. Everything is intact, and there. The only odd thing is that the box is a red/black/white checkerboard pattern, with plates, pots, cups, and flowers on each.
I saw a Moss Rose set on sale on Ebay, and it had a labeled box.
Do you know how made this set of tea cups/pots? I.e., mfr?
Nice website by the way.
Thanks.
Oh Lynn.. I feel so bad..I have this tea cup...and i just made a pin cushion out of it on my blog today...

I will check and see if I have more of these...how come I just found you? love your stuff..
I have this exact set from my childhood. My mother was a collector of fine china and this is the set she bought me when I was young.
