The 2nd annual Rooster Party hosted by sweet Barb at Bella Vista was such fun and there were so many participants that I still have lots of bloggers to visit yet! Be sure to check it out ~ you will fall in love with roosters if you haven't already!
I found a super sweet vintage ballerina graphic awhile back at The Graphics Fairy ~ isn't it cute! I couldn't decide whether to make a pillow or an embellished bottle project and finally ended up doing both :-)
I couldn't be more pleased with how they turned out and the pillow will be on ebay soon and the bath bottle available over at Victoria Rose Cottage.
The darling original print was grey tones and I decided to "shabby" it up a bit with a hint of pink and transformed all the roses into cottage pink beauties! I had previously made the wreath of roses with elements from a couple vintage postcards and it was the perfect frame for the pretty ballerinas.
The design was printed onto cotton fabric and the pillow is made with vintage pink damask and ruffle of scattered roses. A vintage pink ribbon bow ties up the sparkling crystal rhinestone heart charm for a perfect finishing accent.
The embellished perfume, bath or vanity bottle has a faceted lucite and cork topper and features pretty ribbons and lace, millinery flowers, a cute "whitewashed key which was formerly a pin and lots of rhinestones including another heart!

Hugs and Smiles sent your way,
Good Morning Lynn Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I can't decide which one is more lovely. The bottle or the pillow. Equal definitely. The pillow has such an elegance about it. I love the fabric and the texture combination that you chose. The little rhinestone heart is the element of surprise. I adore it.
The bottle would be beautiful in so many places throughout a home that needed just that little pop of elegance. I love the photo and the use of the little bit of pink. It was the perfect touch Lynn. Just perfect.
Thank you for sharing today. I have so enjoyed my visit.
Country hugs sweetie..>Sherry

What a lovely pillow. My grandson is a ballet dancer so I love anything with ballerinas (yours remind me of the Degas pictures}. It would be much too pink for him but I'm sure that any of his partners would love it.
ReplyDeleteYou work is so pretty and looks very professional. I love your bottles!!

Angela.

Good Morning Lynn!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Your ballerinas are truly beautiful. I was reminded of my bedroom when I was around the age of eight. My bedspread and sheets were covered with ballerinas and hanging on the wall I had two needlepoint ballerina pictures done by my Aunt Gwen. Fast-forward forty-two years......the bedspread and sheets are long gone with the exception of one pillowcase and the needlepoints. The needlepoints are hanging on my bedroom wall today. (You can see them in my post for the pillow shams!) Thanks for sharing!
Warm hugs, Laura
How beautiful. That's my favorite graphic, and I've used it in different ways. Next will be a pillow for sure! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteI love the pillow and the bottle! You are so creative and give everything the perfect touches! How do you know how to do that? I would not know how to use a computer to add a hint of pink and then the exquisite rose border! Wow! Good luck selling them! They will sell quickly! My daughter took five years of dance and then quit much to my dismay. I always wanted to be a dancer and was wishing she would accomplish my dream for me! Big hugs to you!
Linda (rosesandpink)
