One of my favorite Shabby Cabinets

I hope everyone enjoyed a glorious Sunday! Our tornado weather has passed ~ although I swear I saw Dorothy and Toto fly by :-) Today was sunny but too mushy to work in my Garden of Weeden so I thought I'd share with you a photo of my favorite vintage hutch. It's an antique radio cabinet and I have a couple of them but this is by far the biggest and sweetest with some wonderful carved details.

This one fits nicely on a small wall between our kitchen and family room. They are not really that hard to find and it's well worth the effort to remove all the old radio components and give a shabby make-over too. The front doors slide open side to side and probably housed a record player but this one was empty . . . yay! The radio fit snuggly in the nifty arched top and is now the perfect place for collectibles and the speakers were in the long tall doors on each side.

I have some teacup stackers on the shelf now but who knows what will be there later ;-)

  8. Mmmmm...your house is so pretty! I'm jealous...with 5 boys I do my best but their is always kid clutter and stuff around the house. I just enjoy them because I know someday they will be grown and gone and then I will miss all that. (Well that's what people keep telling me anyways!) Your blog is wonderful!
