Nifty Thrifty Shoppe Finds

Happy Greetings to anyone reading my blog today! I want to share with you some of my fabulous finds from last week :-) We have lots of thrift shops in my area and depending on where I go running errands brings me around to different places. On my way home from the post office I visited a neat favorite place called Razzle~Dazzle that is only 3 blocks from our house and 2 Goodwill Stores.

I came away from Razzle~Dazzle with some wonderful things including a pair of charming handpainted lamps that I'll show you at a later time.
I love aging silver pieces so I was immediately drawn to this teaset that was up high and out of my reach. The man behind the counter was chatting on the phone but came over when he saw me on tippy toes trying to reach it!
There was a tea pot, creamer, sugar with lid and even a spooner!

I saw the 5.00 sticker on the teapot but none of the other pieces were priced ~ he then said the entire set was 5.00 ~ said it was pretty worn and tarnished and it's been here awhile. I said it sure is but I'll take it anyway :-)
I'm fond of the aged silverplate and not one that prefers it all shiney and new looking! Can you imagine all the teaparties this set has been invited too?
It has such lovely details . . .

Cute little footsies . . .

Silver over Copper . . . and 3 hallmarks . . . me happy :-)

I always find some nice clothes at GW and a collectible every now and then but this time I uncovered some neat things!
A pair of handpainted Made In Japan S&P shakers 1.99 . . . a covered glass jar with frosted polkadot lid . . . 99 cents . . . and a vintage head vase!! Also 1.99 and what a sweetie she is! Batting her eyelashes ~ pink, cream and 24K gold accents

A pretty creamer marked USA on the bottom. Sweet pink with floral bouquet. Another 1.99 GW find . . .

And the last showcase today is a ring of antique skeleton keys from Razzle~Dazzle! I use these in lots of my projects . . . plus our house will be 100 years old next year and all the interior oak doors use skeleton keys so I like to have lots of extras on hand :-)
Thank you so much for your visit today and I hope to see you again soon!

Hugs and Smiles,

  16. Thank you for stopping by my new blog, Lynn. Not sure how you found me, but I'm glad you did because it enabled me to find you. Your blog is lovely, and I will definitely be returning.

I, too, love thrift stores, though not too many years ago I was unwilling to step foot it one. (Too proud, I guess). But I've realized they can be a treasure chest of wonderful finds. Like your tea set. Oh, it is SO lovely. And for $5. What a steal!! I actually have a similar teaset, packed away in a box. It belonged to my grandmother (the same one who used the desert rose china pattern), and I always loved it, so when she died, it went to me. I don't have a place to put it right now, so it's packed away, but I look forward to lovingly getting it out of the box one day soon.

    Anyhow, nice to meet you.

    Hugs,
    Patti
