CHRISTMAS in July and Giveaway Ending Tomorrow

Greetings my Bloggerly Friends! I hope you Had . . . Will Have . . . or are Having a wonderful day!
Just a reminder that my Giveaway for the pretty embellished bottle ends at midnight tonight ~ June 30th ~ so you still have time to enter by clicking for details HERE I'll be announcing the winner on Thursday, July 1st along with a NEW Giveaway!! And today's post will give you a little hinty as to what it will be for :-)

I don't know if I've mentioned before, but I've been selling my handmades on ebay for 12 years . . . since the good old days before Paypal, Priority Mail, convenient digital cameras and Online Shipping!
One of my favorite things to make for you are Christmas Stockings! Traditional styles with shabby sweet appeal using romantic rose fabrics, laces, handmade ribbon roses, glitzy rhinestone details and even vintage images. Below are 4 examples of previous sold stockings . . .

Next you will see my favorite style of stocking which are the Mini Stocking or Booty Sachet Ornaments! I've offered these for 7 years and they are so cute to display on doorknobs, chair backs, peg shelves, cabinet knobs, or hanging on Christmas trees. Most are stuffed with fiberfluff and French lavender buds

And not only roses but other colors too :-))

One thing you will never hear me say is "Egads the stores have the Christmas decorations out already and it's only July!!"
Personally, I
LOVE it! I am so inspired seeing all the stores with their decorations and holiday crafting supplies and a July start seems just perfect! And could there ever be anything wrong with being in the Christmas Spirit for 6 months :-)
My Traditional size stockings will again be available at Victoria Rose Cottage this year and the mini stockings on ebay and also on Etsy this year!
Please meet me here on Thursday for the Embellished Bottle winner announcement and to see the newest giveaway I have for you!!
Hugs, Smiles and Blessings

Bloggerette Sorority Sisters RUSH Days!

It is time for RUSH days in the new BLOGGERETTE SORORITY and I am pleased to be a Sorority Sister! Hosted by super sweet KAREN at Some Days are Diamonds our project was to create anything our heart desires using the cute sisterhood photo seen below and the only rule was that we must be in the finished photograph :-)

I decided to make an image pillow incorporating the photograph, with vintage damask, soft rose ruffle, lace, pearl buttons and a vintage and new millinery rose bouquet with dangling key charm.

I tweeked the black and white photo with pinks in the flowers and girly cheeks . . . and I am in the picture in the form of a ribboned tag . . . black and white of course!

I hope you like my project and I am now off to visit the other sisters and be awe inspired by all the creativity out there!! Won't you join me by clicking the link at the top of the post!!!

Hugs and Smiles,

Lynn

Pinkies Rule on Saturdays~ PINK SATURDAY!

Hello Pink Lovers!
It's Pink Saturday and a basket full of Thank you's go to Beverly of
HOW SWEET THE SOUND
for hosting the get together each week!!
Join in the fun and visit as many of the pink party peep participants as you possibly as you can!
And if you haven't entered my giveaways yet there is still time so please check out the links on the sidebar and add your name!!

My first pink selection this week is a most charming vintage french pink enamel swirl teapot . . . sans lid! It has a bit of wear which I think only adds to its charming history. I've added some vintage lace and pink parchment roses and doesn't it make a sweet display :-)

Here is a favorite antique quilt made in the classic Rose of Sharon pattern. Appliqued by hand and handquilted it has 2 pretty pinks for the roses and 2 perfect minty greens for the stems and leaves. I dont know what I was thinking but I sold this on ebay a couple years ago ~ sigh . . .

The sweetest handpainted roses, daisies and violets cover this enchanting lidded container. You may think it looks like a powder jar . . . but open it and . . .

it was filled with vintage cotton balls! And pink ones!! Much different from todays cottonballs - these are big and kind of "rolled" round and round with layers of the softest fluff.

I love vintage Lefton pieces and this set is so cute with the handpainted pink roses on a gorgeous 1940's shade of green. It goes perfect with my Jadite collection!!

And lastly but not leastly are 2 of my handmades! A beautiful Victorian lady pillow and embellished bottle featuring 3 sisters or friends on the label.
Thank you so much for your visit and sharing some of my pink treasures today!!
Enjoy a Pink~A~licious weekend :-)
Hugs and Smiles,

Lynn

Teacup Tuesday #8 and Pretty Sachets

Greetings to all the Teacup lovers visiting for another Teacup Tuesday!
Thanks go to sweet MARTHA and sweet TERRI for hosting this weekly Tea party! Click on either of their names to be wisked off to see more pretty teacups :-)
My Blogger was down for most of the day and my monday post hasn't been up that long and I am combining it with Teacup Tuesday . . . SO this is a long one!

Last spring on one of my antiquing jaunts I came across an entire set of this pretty china called Norway Rose . . . complete except for a teapot! The dealer had just finished setting a beautiful table with ALL the pieces when I saw it :-) The price was unbelievably reasonable and it is now my everyday good china!
I love the simplicity of it and it can be casual or dressed up with it's perfect pink rose on cream with a pink band and 25K highlights. The bottom mark says:
Cunningham & Pickett, Inc ~ Hand Decorated ~ NORWAY ROSE ~ Alliance Ohio.

But that didn't stop me from making some antique shop and thrift store visits and I'll share some sweet things I discovered soon!
I found lots of goodies for my embellished bottles and can hardly wait to start working on new ones! They are sold exclusively at Victoria Rose Cottage if you want to click on the sidebar link and see some!
Today I thought I would share with you some of my hanging sachets that were previously sold on ebay and s
ince I'm a fairly new blogger I thought you may enjoy seeing some of my work! I've been selling there for over 12 years and sachets have been one of my passions :-) I love to add vintage and new millinery flowers plus my handmade ribbon roses that are such fun to make.
Thank you so much for your visit today and please stop by again soon!

PinCushions & Cross Stitch PINK SATURDAY

Hello Pink Lovers!
It's Pink Saturday and a basket full of Thank you's go to Beverly of
HOW SWEET THE SOUND
for hosting the party each week!!

I'd love to have you take a little detour and visit my 2nd giveaway post by clicking HERE!!
It ends on June 14th and YES it's Pink ;-))

I collect vintage pincushions and love the ones that are handmade with porcelain "half dolls". This treasure I found last year and she is as lovely as can be! She's the largest one I've ever seen and measures 9" across!

Her dress ~ or pincushion part ~ is made from a pink satin trimmed with vintage laces. Isn't she sweet with her delicate features and dainty hands! And this is the only one I've ever seen with a music box inside!

From 1982 to 1995 I self published my cross stitch design patterns under the name Graph-It Arts. Back then the country look was hot but I still liked the more pastel shades of shabby cottage country!

This photo is a stitched model from the book "Sentimental Country #2" from 1990 and its always been one of my favorites with the pink and white patchwork quilt and teddy bear :-)

You can see it on the cover shown in an oak frame which I've since whitewashed.

My final item to showcase is one of my handmade sweet & petite shabby pink birdie pincushions! Isn't she the cutest thing!! This one will be listed on ebay tomorrow and I hope she will find a good home!
Thank you to all the pink peeps who visited me today and I'm going to try and visit everyone on the list this week!!

Nifty Thrifty Shoppe Finds

Happy Greetings to anyone reading my blog today! I want to share with you some of my fabulous finds from last week :-) We have lots of thrift shops in my area and depending on where I go running errands brings me around to different places. On my way home from the post office I visited a neat favorite place called Razzle~Dazzle that is only 3 blocks from our house and 2 Goodwill Stores.

I came away from Razzle~Dazzle with some wonderful things including a pair of charming handpainted lamps that I'll show you at a later time.
I love aging silver pieces so I was immediately drawn to this teaset that was up high and out of my reach. The man behind the counter was chatting on the phone but came over when he saw me on tippy toes trying to reach it!
There was a tea pot, creamer, sugar with lid and even a spooner!

I saw the 5.00 sticker on the teapot but none of the other pieces were priced ~ he then said the entire set was 5.00 ~ said it was pretty worn and tarnished and it's been here awhile. I said it sure is but I'll take it anyway :-)
I'm fond of the aged silverplate and not one that prefers it all shiney and new looking! Can you imagine all the teaparties this set has been invited too?
It has such lovely details . . .

Cute little footsies . . .

Silver over Copper . . . and 3 hallmarks . . . me happy :-)

I always find some nice clothes at GW and a collectible every now and then but this time I uncovered some neat things!
A pair of handpainted Made In Japan S&P shakers 1.99 . . . a covered glass jar with frosted polkadot lid . . . 99 cents . . . and a vintage head vase!! Also 1.99 and what a sweetie she is! Batting her eyelashes ~ pink, cream and 24K gold accents

A pretty creamer marked USA on the bottom. Sweet pink with floral bouquet. Another 1.99 GW find . . .

And the last showcase today is a ring of antique skeleton keys from Razzle~Dazzle! I use these in lots of my projects . . . plus our house will be 100 years old next year and all the interior oak doors use skeleton keys so I like to have lots of extras on hand :-)
Thank you so much for your visit today and I hope to see you again soon!

Hugs and Smiles,
