Good Day of Vintage Finds!

Its been awhile since I visited some of my favorite antique & resale shoppes and finding some wonderful items yesterday sure did make up for lost time! While my precious cocker spaniel Baby Maxxie was at the groomer I had 3 hours for a good hunt and it turned out to be a pink, cream and soft green kinda day!
The wicker and wood box came with a handled top and is the prettiest shade of green ~ 2 pink ruffle topped milkglass vases ~ 5 spools of vintage pink ribbon ~ assorted vintage laces ~ spool of heavy green twine ~ framed roses in miniature petitpoint ~ and 4 Limoges teacups and saucers . . .

And thats not all! This next pic shows a wooden shabby white painted carrier (not old), filled with the contents of an old rusty coffee can which was thousands of perfectly clean mother of pearl buttons . . . and probably my best find ever ~ an unopened bag of 48 vintage Made in Japan pink millinery roses attached to hair combs! Oh my!
But guess what the best part of the day was??? Picking up Maxxie and going home :-)
Wishing you a day full of treasures and puppy hugs!

PinCushion Confections

One of my very very VERY favorite things to make are unique pin cushions!
Last spring 2009, I started a line called
PINCUSHION CONFECTIONS
and thought you would enjoy seeing some of them :-)
They are made with pretty quilters cotton fabrics and have charming embellished toppers!
Most have shabby chic rose styling but other themes have included teddy bears, roosters, Uncle Sam, Mary Engelbreit cherries, baby, holidays and more.
Number 170 is in the works right now and incorporates a vintage lady image and will be on ebay monday . . . please check in and take a peek!
Wishing everyone a warm and wonderful Spring Saturday!

Sweet Little Dollies

I thought you may enjoy seeing one of my many . . . too many . . . collections! There's something about these little dolls with their cute handpainted faces that I find so very appealing :-) They are 1930's Made in Japan and made of bisque and "frozen" except for their little jointed arms! They originally came with a ribbon bow wrapped around their body or very simple gathered fabric "dress". My favorites are the ones with the big googly flapper girl style eyes . . . how can these not bring a smile to your face!!

Welcome to my Blog

Greetings and welcome to my first blog post! Please be kind as I learn all the techy stuff about the world of Blogger-dom :-)
I hope you will check in every now and then to see whats new as I share some bits and pieces about l'il ole me . . photos . . vintage image graphics . . . and even some free cross stitch designs!
I am torn between the shabby chic cream and pink rose style of decorating and more of a 40's eclectic cottage look and our house is a mix and match of both. EXCEPT for the basement ~ which is my husband Dave's Man Cave ~ and he has a whole sports memorabilia, excersize equiment, toolshop, log cabin thing going on down there :-)
Our family room is a huge 30 x 18 which makes it kind of hard to decorate and here is a pic of one corner. I found the storage stool and HomeGoods and will be slipcovering it soon.

Wishing you a glorious first week of Spring 2010!
