Safe & Happy Independence Day Wishes

Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.
~Dwight D. Eisenhower

Wishing you all a safe and happy Fourth of July celebration! I hope the weather in your area is to your liking and you are spending the day with family and friends.
I found the vintage American flags in the photo above about 10 years ago at a fabulous antique shop in Glen Ellyn, IL called The Sign of the Whale. They were $1.00 each so of course being the hoarder collector that I am, I had to get all 26 of them :-) The dealer picked them up after a 4th of July parade in the 1960's in Milwaukee, Wisconson.

They are 25" tall and have wooden dowel flagpoles with gold painted wood cappers. The flags are cotton fabric, machine hemmed on all 4 sides, and the colors have softly faded with age.
I thought you would enjoy seeing them!
I will be announcing the winner of my GIVEAWAY #14 in the next day or so ~ so please stop in again to see!
Three cheers for the Red, White and Blue and God Bless America!!

A "JUST BECAUSE" Giveaway For You!

Hello my dear bloggerly Friends! I hope you are well and enjoying a wonderful summer . . . in the garden ~ vacationing ~ or doing whatever brings you the most joy!
Guess what??!! I have another Giveaway for you and hope it is one you will want to enter!
It's a JUST BECAUSE Giveaway ~ no special occasion and just because I love making things for you :-)
This is Giveaway #14 which is for this pretty embellished bottle and one of my original notecards! I have quite a few new notecards finished and will be offering them soon!

The bottle is a tall one measuring 9-1/2" high including the crystal ball glass topper and is embellished with a big vintage pink millinery rose along with newer rosebuds and bitty blossoms, vintage lace and organza bows and a sparkling rhinestone heart charm. Note the band of sweet vintage image roses along the bottom :-)

The notecard is for lovers of tea and teacups and showcases 9 of my favorites on a background of lace with the sentiment "Tea is best when shared with friends". How true!
My photos look so good when I take them but once posted they look all grainy for some reason. I'll have to work on finding out what I'm doing wrong.
The rules are simple and you have the option of receiving 4 entries. Each comment is numbered 1 - ?? in order from the comments left on this Giveaway post only and the winner will be drawn June 30th using the Random Number Generator.

Anywho . . . I again used the Random Number Generator to select the winner of the Cottage Charm Giveaway that ended on May 29th and it chose #99 which is . . . . Wendi at Once Upon a Rose Haven! You must go over and see the fantabulous garden shed they built! I think I need to give ours a shabby makeover with some added gingerbread so it doesn't look so much like the little grey barn you see below . . .

Thanks again and I'll be back very soon!

TEACUP TUESDAY with pretty pink roses

Many thank you's go to MARTHA and sweet TERRI for hosting this weekly Tea party! Click on either of their names to be wisked off to see more pretty teacups 'n' things :-)
If you haven't seen my latest giveaway please take a sec and stop over to this post and enter to win a pretty Frances Brundage pillow and embellished bottle!

I chose one of my favorite pink rose teacups and teapots to share today. Can you imagine having an entire teaset of either of these sweeties?

The teacup is a thin, delicate, porcelain covered in soft pink roses. I love the shape of the handle and it looks kind of like a little heart! There are dainty scallops and hints of golden wash on the edges.
The tea pot has the cutest little cottage pink rosebuds scattered all about, with more gold touches. The "shell" shape design reminds me of a Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilt design!

The pot is marked SADLER ENGLAND on the bottom as is most of my favorite teapots! The cup and saucer has a makers mark pattern that I can not figure out and is signed M.Z. Austria with a handpainted 9. I hope you enjoyed my selections this week.
I have lots of new things going to my Ebay shoppe today so please take a peek if you'd like to see!
Enjoy a terrific Teacup Tuesday!!
Hugs and Smiles,
Lynn

For Giveaway #13, I made you a sweet and petite lavender sachet and matching embellished bottle. Hope you likey :-) The center of attention is a darling young girl originally painted many many moons ago by the beloved artist Frances Brundage. Along with the pretty in pink girl, I used a number of other vintage graphics to create the design including an oval of pink roses, french script & soft "lace" in the background.

The sachet pillow-ette features pink rose fabrics, vintage lace, millinery roses, ribbon bow and a heart of sparkling rhinestones. It measures 9" x 10" including the ruffle and has a ribbon hanger giving you the option of displaying from a doorknob, peg, etc. if you wish!
