Bunches o' Bowls for White Wednesday

A big THANK YOU goes to Kathleen of ~ FADEDCHARM ~ for hosting White Wednesday! If you love all shades of white, cream, ivory, taupe, etc you must go and view all the creative bloggers!

While browsing thru one of my favorite antique haunts awhile back I came across stacks of these vintage white USA restaurant berry or veggie side bowls priced at 2 for 1.00. Hmmmm . . . I thought ~ such a deal but what could I use them for?? But as any good collector knows to never to pass up something that speaks to you! So quite a few of them came home with me!

I love the aged white with light crazing and the sweet scalloped edging. They have come in very handy for lots of things from sorting buttons to using as plant saucers. And I like the way they look just simply stacked . . .

And oh my! A birdie is nesting in one ~ a white birdie of course ;-)

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and just a reminder to check out my latest giveaway ~ it ends on the 12th so please Click HERE for the details!

Big Hugs and Smiles to one and all,
Lynn

Good luck to everyone!
I have been a busy bee making lots of embellished bottles for Victoria Rose Cottage and some l'il cuties things for eBay too that I hope to get listed this evening! Giveaway Winner and Lotsa Lotsa Snow!

Greetings from Snowyville USA!
Have I mentioned before that I love snow . . . you know I have :-) And it's a good thing I do because here in the Chicago suburbs we got 20 inches in 24 hours! Not quite beating the 1967 record of 24 inches but close enough. This was a true whiteout blizzard - Snowmadegon! There was blustery winds and even thunder and lightning. Don't think I've ever experience that before!

It was still snowing wednesday morning while Dave and our trusty snowblower did a mighty fine job of keeping it under control.

Just a little snow tuesday afternoon and you can see my garden cranes just have cold footsies for now. And yes that is just a vintage cottage door leading to nowhere on the side of the garage :-)

Wednesday morning . . . . Yikes HELP US!!

Would you like to come on over for a cup of tea on the deck? BYOS ~ bring your own shovel

This door opens to a fenced in doggie area on the south side of our property and you can see that there is no going out there for Maxxie anytime soon HA!! I have to give kudos to our little village who had the snowplows out in full force and did our street every couple hours! So except for one day of craziness ~ all is pretty much back to "normal" for winter in the midwest!

And now onto the winner of my EMBELLISHED HEART BOTTLE GIVEAWAY! This time I used a random number generator and thought I could just copy and paste the "box" but it didn't turn out quite that way as you can see below. So I took a pic of my computer screen showing that the winning number picked was #91! And counting in order of comments that number belongs to . . .

Sherry of Country Wings in Phoenix!Congratulations Sherry!
Please drop me an email with your mailing info and I'll send your pretty bottle on the way home. Great BIG thank you's so all who entered and left such wonderful comments! I haven't made the rounds to everyone yet but I will!! And I have another giveaway coming very soon so please stop by again to see.
Til next time stay safe and keep warm and cozy

If you love pink roses, hearts, vintage lace, ribbons and rhinestones you just may want to enter this one :-) The label was created from an antique valentine and sure does look like the antique rose painted artwork of Catherine Klein. The winner will be drawn from the list of comments on this GIVEAWAY post only so if you leave 4 comments you have 4 times the chance of winning!! I'm still here & Giveaway Winner ~FINALLY!

Oh goodness where does the time go! It looks like I've been M.I.A . . . again! I'm sure you all know how it is when things and sad events just build and you just shut yourself down to deal with it all?
Back in 1979, my Father passed away not long after I met Dave, my future husband, and he nor his family never had the chance to meet him! We married that same year and I "inherited" the best father in law in the world who for the last 31 years has been like a father to me. I've never known anyone who had such a best friend father/son relationship as Dave and his Dad! He recently had a heart attack . . . the paramedics brought him back but he was in a coma and could not breath on his own. He especially loved when the whole family could be together so it was just like him to hold on until we could all be gathered at his hospital bedside. He was being kept alive by machines for 3 days which was totally against his wishes. So when his 6 children, their spouses and his grandchildren were all there and said their final goodbyes, he went to heaven peacefully . . . He finally got to meet my Dad and I think they will be good friends.

Dave and his Father

I believe that I shared with you earlier that my sweet cocker spaniel Maxxie was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer. We have been going thru the Please God just let him live thru Thanksgiving . . . Christmas . .. his birthday?? He turned 13 last week! He still has a good appetite and occasionally gets his hippity hoppity happy moments which is a good thing but he's slowing down quickly and sleeps most of the time now. We will know when the "decision" time comes but for now we are blessed with every day he's with us.

I won't depress you with any more of my trials and tribulations and want to end this post on a positive note!! Yes, I did have a giveaway ~ and it ended on . . . uHum . . . Christmas Eve :-) Ok, I know I know!!! The winning number is #28 who is Victoria from Slightly Shabby . . . It is nice to meet you Victoria and if you will send me your shipping info I will send your embellished bottle on its way!

Thank you to everyone who entered and left comments!! I have another giveaway coming very soon so please stop by again and enter.

Til we meet again in blogland . . .

Lynn
